Design of the Stronger Artist Website
Thank you for your interest in the Stronger Artist website. For those who are curious, some behind-the-scenes information is contained below. I highly recommend all of the products/service providers listed, and receive no payment for mentioning them, whether you click on their links or not.
The Stronger Artist site is built on WordPress using the Genesis framework. The site uses a custom skin built with the Dynamik Website Builder. The design—including most coding—was done by me, Drake Gómez. Tutorials and other interactive resources, such as the Figure Drawing Blueprint, were created with Microsoft PowerPoint using the add-in iSpring e-learning software (for certain functions and for HTML conversion).
Most body copy and some subheads throughout the website use Arvo, a free webfont available from FontSquirrel. The Stronger Artist logo and some blog post title graphics use Weston, a free webfont also downloaded from FontSquirrel (but alas, no longer available there). Main headers are set in Function Pro, available from Fontspring.
I write all of the posts on the blog page using Scrivener writing software.
The cartoon illustrations of the “stronger artists” Max and Mydi and their dog Darwin were drawn by Mikayla Lewis.
The Stronger Artist site is hosted by InMotion Hosting and uses the Cloudflare content delivery network. Among other plug-ins, the site uses Yoast SEO, Wordfence security, Jetpack backup protection, and WP Rocket caching software.
I am not able to answer questions about the specific use or settings of any of the software mentioned here, so please don’t ask. Likewise, if you want me to design a website for you, I’ll be flattered, but it’s not what I do. If, however, you want to know something about this site in general that I haven’t described, feel free to contact me here. And thank you again for reading!
